We’d like to introduce the “Alvin 28,” launched in Heisei 8. It is equipped with a Yanmar 6LYM-STP engine, which has 1,700 hours on the hour meter; the engine oil, oil filter, and other items were reportedly replaced in May 2025. Please replace consumable parts related to the engine, such as the impeller, after purchase. Externally, the gelcoat on the hull shows some deterioration, but it has been buffed repeatedly and is kept clean. The engine is reportedly running smoothly and is typically operated at around 18 knots. Between 2020 and 2021, the following replacements were made: the bow hatch, bow thruster, and turbocharger; the through-hull fitting for the cooling water intake was replaced; three automatic bilge pumps were replaced; the manual bilge pump was replaced; two batteries were replaced;the aft deck shower, the GPS fishfinder, the toggle switches on the control panel, and the fabric on the Bimini top, among other things. Since then, additional work has been done, including the addition of a third battery for the bow thruster, a solar charging system, a searchlight, and an inverter. Although it’s a 28-foot boat, the cabin is spacious, making it suitable for family use. The boat is reportedly operated from the flybridge using a three-point remote control. An enclosure can be added under the Bimini top, allowing for comfortable cruising even in winter. This is a boat perfect for leisurely cruising through the Seto Inland Sea.
